Arete does

• Clearly separate verified references from suggested search terms.
• Encourage source verification.
• Preserve researcher control over every accepted suggestion.
• Support transparent and reproducible workflows.

Handling of AI suggestions

Any AI-generated citation must be verified before it is displayed as a usable reference. Arete will never invent DOIs, journal names, author lists, publication dates, study results, datasets, or quotations. When a trustworthy source cannot be found, Arete says so plainly.
